Lynden Paint & Flooring: Transforming Homes and Serving the Community

For more than 40 years, Lynden Paint & Flooring has been a trusted cornerstone of home improvement in the community. The store first opened in 1980, specializing in flooring and paint. Trey Vogt, the current owner, began working there as a high school student and worked up to eventually take over the business.

“I took over the business and have continued to build on its foundation, expanding our offerings to include cabinets, countertops, and full interior design solutions,” Vogt explains.

Today, the store offers a wide range of products, including carpet, vinyl, hardwood, tile, paint supplies, and hardware. Vogt has also emphasized interior design services, helping customers choose the right cabinets, countertops, and fixtures for their homes. “We are a complete shop now. Customers can come here for everything they need for a project, and we guide them through the process,” he says.

What sets Lynden Paint & Flooring apart, Vogt says, is the level of personal service. The store not only sells products but also coordinates installation with licensed contractors, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and professionally. “We help people through the entire process. That is what really makes a difference,” he says.

Running a small business comes with its challenges. Vogt points to competition from large chains and big box stores as one of the biggest hurdles. “It can be a race to the bottom with pricing. We focus on quality products, competitive pricing, and fast service. That combination keeps our customers coming back,” he says.

Despite its size, the team of three work closely together, covering sales, design, and operations. Vogt remains hands-on, spending his days assisting customers, teaching design options, and managing the store. “I enjoy seeing a home transformed and knowing we helped make that happen,” he says.

Community involvement is also important to Vogt. He supports local schools, youth sports teams, and nonprofits with donations and sponsorships. “I grew up a mile from the store, so giving back to the community is a natural part of what we do,” he explains.

Whether someone is updating a single room or completing a full home renovation, Lynden Paint & Flooring combines a wide selection of products with personal service, expert guidance, and a commitment to the local community.  For Vogt and his team, it is more than a store.
