Schooley Mitchell Spotlight for White Point Resort
Purpose and Tradition: The Leadership Behind White Point Resort
Tucked along a breathtaking stretch of oceanfront, White Point Resort is more than just a getaway, it’s a destination built on decades of family tradition, thoughtful service, and year-round hospitality.
At the heart of its continued growth is Andy Lee, a seasoned hospitality professional who brings more than 35 years of experience and a deep-rooted passion for service. Whether it’s guiding his team through a busy season or stopping by to greet guests in the dining room, Lee’s leadership style is founded on presence, purpose, and people.
“The thing that sets places apart is the attention to detail and the level of customer service you can provide at your establishment, whether it be quality food or service, and going above and beyond for guests.”
Lee’s journey into hospitality started long before the boardroom. “It really began when I was 13 or 14, taking home economics in school,” he recalls. “I went on to earn my chef papers, worked in the industry part time while in college, and worked my way up.”
Over three decades later he’s led departments and managed operations across hotels, restaurants, and private clubs, always driven by a commitment to quality, consistency and team culture. It’s a mindset that’s helped shape what sets White Point apart.
White Point Resort is no ordinary retreat. Sprawled across 800 acres of stunning waterfront property, it blends classic charm with modern comforts, from vacation homes and luxury glamping domes, to treehouses, and cozy cottages. With a full-service restaurant and year-round event calendar, it has become a favourite for corporate retreats, weddings, family reunions, and everything in between.
Community isn’t just part of White Point’s charm; it’s part of the mission. The resort has partnered with organizations like the food bank and their local housing association, while also donating to regional charities.
Outside of work, Lee finds time to unwind with the sport he loves. “I’m an Evertonian through and through, thick and thin,” he laughs. “I love soccer, and when I can, I play a little golf. Not very well though, I’m more of a hacker.” It’s the same humility and warmth that defines his leadership, and the resort itself.
