Mike & Mary Corfman

When it comes to business, Schooley Mitchell Consultants Mike & Mary Corfman have been on the front lines. They know having efficient and cost-effective communications services are crucial to a successful operation and for maximizing profit for any business.

“We have a great base of understanding from an organizational point of view and a practical point of view,” Mike explains. “We know the importance of having everything work the way it needs to for your company.”

But choosing the most efficient and appropriate services will continue to be a challenge, one that illustrates the need of having an objective, independent advocate on your side.

“Our goal for each client is to make sure they receive the correct services they need from the most qualified service providers at the lowest market costs,” says Mike. “Not just one time, but each month, all while providing total customer service for any customer question, service issue, billing errors and audits.

“We get the best cost from the best vendors, and make sure everything works the way it’s supposed to. We do it right the first time, and make sure it stays that way.”

With over 30 years of professional experience in purchasing, management, and accounting, Schooley Mitchell has a special focus on total customer service. In fact, it’s the value on which the business is built.

Mike has served his country and community over 30 years, retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve as a Senior Chief, and recently retiring after 32 years as a firefighter, the last 18 years as the Fire Chief of his community.  Mike has a technical background in telecom and communications in the military, as well as working as a communications technician for a local two-way radio shop for five years.

Mary has many years of business experience, working for General Telephone (GTE, or now Verizon or Frontier depending on where you live) as well as the Salvation Army and Big Brothers — Big Sisters.   Mary has an A.S. in Business, a Bachelors in Human Resource Management from Spring Arbor College, and a Masters in Counseling from Western Michigan University.   She also maintains her certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor, and has operated in private practice for many years in the Kalamazoo and Saint Joseph County areas of Michigan.

In their spare time, the Corfmans enjoy spending time with their family and their many nieces and nephews, attending sporting events and NASCAR races. They are often found roaming around classic car shows, travelling there in their 1971 Camaro (which Mike tinkers with more often than is needed).    Mary and Mike enjoy inside and outside do-it-yourself home projects with the help of their two cats KC (Kitty Cat) and Stubby (…he has no tail).   Mike and Mary are also involved in their community and are supporters of their local Fire Department.

They are proud members of their local Chamber of Commerce, and Mike sits on the Kalamazoo County Local Emergency Planning Committee, where he formerly served as Chairperson for 20 years.   Mike and Mary also maintain membership in the local Fire Department Auxiliary.

The most satisfying part of their work is helping clients save money and time, allowing them to focus on what really matters most: growing their business.
