Westmoreland Place

Westmoreland Place is a nursing home in Ohio that was challenged by its telecommunications requirements due to the size and configuration of its building. Schooley Mitchell’s Dave Huggins and Greg Ptacin sat down with administrators to obtain an overview of the home’s needs, including elevators, emergency power generation, and communications and security systems. After thorough examination, Schooley Mitchell was able to deliver a 53 per cent cost reduction.

“We now also benefit from having more features and functionality to our system which helps our facility run more efficiently saving us additional dollars,” said David Dixon, Westmoreland Place administrator. “It has been nice for our staff to have one number to call when questions or problems arise and we know they will be answered and taken care of in a very timely fashion.”

When Dave Huggins of Schooley Mitchell met with the owner of the Frankfort and Bainbridge IGA stores about examining their telecommunications services, management thought the operation was too small for such an undertaking. However, when Huggins came back with a 40 per cent reduction in costs, it didn’t take long to change his mind. Along with the monthly savings, Huggins was also able to oversee wiring and equipment upgrades at both stores.

“You found items in our bills that I didn’t even know we were paying for,” said owner Terry DeGarmo. “… I wouldn’t have known who to call and could not have gotten this work done for such a low cost. These wiring changes, new equipment and new rates helped us improve our overall communications systems.”
